Huayou Zimbabwe has moved to deepen its relationship with FBC Group as the lithium producer continues expanding its beneficiation operations and strengthening its position in Zimbabwe’s fast-growing battery minerals industry.

The company recently hosted a delegation of senior FBC executives at its operations in a visit aimed at enhancing collaboration, improving engagement and providing the financial institution with a clearer understanding of Huayou Zimbabwe’s operational requirements and future growth plans.

The discussions provided an opportunity for Huayou Zimbabwe management to outline the company’s business needs and operational priorities as it continues investing in lithium value-addition initiatives.

A key highlight of the engagement was a tour of Arcadia Technology Zimbabwe (ATZ), Huayou Zimbabwe’s lithium processing facility, where FBC executives were taken through the technical processes involved in the production of lithium salts.

The visit showcased the scale and sophistication of Huayou Zimbabwe’s beneficiation operations, which form a critical part of Zimbabwe’s efforts to build a domestic battery minerals value chain and reduce reliance on raw mineral exports.

The engagement also enabled the FBC delegation to gain first-hand insight into the company’s contribution to lithium processing and the broader mining value chain.

Addressing Huayou Zimbabwe management, FBC Bank Managing Director Mubaiwa Mubayiwa reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting the company as it expands its operations.

“Huayou remains a top priority for FBC. We assure the bank’s continued dedication to improving its products and services to better meet your evolving business needs,” said Mubayiwa.

The visit comes as Huayou Zimbabwe continues to play a significant role in the country’s beneficiation agenda through investment in lithium processing infrastructure and value-added mineral products.

By engaging directly with Huayou Zimbabwe’s leadership and touring its operations, FBC sought to strengthen its understanding of the company’s evolving requirements and identify opportunities to provide tailored financial solutions that support future growth.

The engagement reflects Huayou Zimbabwe’s growing strategic importance within Zimbabwe’s mining sector and highlights increasing collaboration between major mining investors and local financial institutions.

Both organisations said continued dialogue and cooperation would be essential in fostering long-term growth, improving service delivery and creating opportunities for mutual success as Zimbabwe’s lithium industry continues to develop.

The visit also underscores Huayou Zimbabwe’s expanding influence in the country’s mineral value-addition drive, with the company positioning itself as a key player in the development of downstream lithium processing and beneficiation activities.
