INDEPENDENT oil and gas explorer Invictus Energy Ltd (ASX: IVZ) confirmed this Thursday that site preparations for its highly anticipated Musuma-1 well are accelerating, keeping the company firmly on track for a November 2026 spud date.
In a public update shared via social media, the company revealed that all civil engineering works have been completed at the wellsite. Infrastructure development has transitioned into the final operational phase as the mobilization of Exalo Rig 202 is officially underway.
The transition from civil construction to active rig rigging up marks a critical milestone for Invictus as it expands its footprint in the asset-rich Cabora Bassa Basin.
“Musuma-1 is taking shape, with drilling preparations ramping up on site,” the company stated, accompanied by a multimedia update from Drilling Manager Ryan Singh detailing the final stages of the deployment.
The upcoming spudding, the formal commencement of drilling the well hole represents the latest step in Invictus Energy’s campaign to unlock a massive frontier hydrocarbon system in northern Zimbabwe.
Energy analysts and market stakeholders are monitoring the mobilization closely, as successful exploration at Musuma-1 could fundamentally alter the energy landscape of Southern Africa.
