Kamativi Mining Company (KMC) has officially partnered with community-based engineering companies, awarding them tenders to support sustainable development projects in Kamativi and surrounding areas.

This reflects KMC’s policy of promoting local businesses and community empowerment. Contracts have been awarded to firms such as Tendering Lion and Chisizya Power Construction Company, which will handle construction and engineering works, including housekeeping, road maintenance and related services. The agreements were signed at KMC offices on 6 March 2026.

Chisizya Power Construction Company Director, Mr Hillario Ngulube, welcomed the opportunity with enthusiasm.
“We are extremely happy for this opportunity given to us by KMC. This initiative will boost employment creation and foster stronger relations between the community and the company,” he said. “I never expected KMC would partner with us to this extent – they are truly working closely with the community.”

Kamativi Residents Chairman, Mr Timothy Mvula, described the partnership as perfectly timed to address pressing community development needs.

“As community leaders, we are very happy. We want future generations to continue working with KMC – they are doing so well with us. This will definitely uplift our community. Keep it up, KMC,” he said.

The long-term contracts represent a significant opportunity for local companies to build sustainable revenue streams and develop professional capacity.

KMC’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager, Mr Silong Liu, highlighted the initiative’s broader impact.

“I am very pleased that KMC can cooperate deeply with local engineering companies. This not only brings immediate benefits to individuals, families and the community, but also enables more local people to acquire engineering skills and operate businesses in a compliant, professional manner. It builds the community’s capacity for sustainable development and creates a virtuous cycle of growth. I look forward to the community where KMC operates coexisting harmoniously with the mine and developing together,” he explained.

As KMC rolls out this programme, the company reaffirms its commitment to community inclusive growth, local business empowerment and the upliftment of the Kamativi community through meaningful two-way engagement and cooperation between KMC and local stakeholders.
