Nasdaq-listed Namib Minerals (Nasdaq: NAMM) is accelerating the restart of Redwing Mine in Zimbabwe, targeting its first gold pour in November 2026, ahead of schedule.
The company announced the accelerated plan on 3 November 2026, following completion of dewatering, refurbishment of critical mine infrastructure and resumption of crushing activities.
In April 2026, Namib had said it would not resume production at Redwing until completion of a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).
However, the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development has introduced new production requirements for foreign-owned operators with thresholds to be met by 1 January 2027, prompting the company to initiate a parallel refurbishment workstream.
Under the plan, the company is targeting initial production of 3,600 tonnes of ore per month, rising to 10,000 tonnes per month by Q2 2027.
Redwing has historically produced approximately 650,000 ounces of gold between 1981 and 2023.
The company emphasised that the accelerated restart is being undertaken alongside the DFS and does not alter previously announced development timelines.
The 2027 production and cost guidance is expected in Q1 2027.
“Restarting Redwing ahead of schedule is a defining milestone for Namib,” the company said. ![]()
