BINDURA Nickel Corporation (BNC) Managing Director Batirai Manhando has stepped down from the reigns of the nickel giant.

“Confirmed yes,” said Manhando while speaking to Mining Index, but said it was too early to disclose his future endeavors saying “Will let you know in due course.”

He has been replaced by Thomas Lusiyano, previously MD of Shamva Mine.

Manhando has been a formidable player in Zimbabwe’s mining sector. He is the immediate past president for the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe (CoMZ)and a member of The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Both BNC and Shamva, once held by Metallon, have recently been bought by Sotic International, linked to Kudakwashe Tagwireyi’s Landela investments. ENDS//
