HARARE (Mining Index) – MBADA Diamonds could soon be returning to the Chiadzwa Diamond Fields, four years after its diamond mining license was revoked by government.
“Word going round is that Mbada Diamonds is going back to mine in Chiadzwa,” said a source privy to the developments.
Mbada Diamonds is one of the diamond mining companies, together with Anjin, Marange Resources, Diamond Mining Company (DMC), Jinan, Gye Nyame and Kusena whio had their mining licenses withdrawn by government following their expiry 2015.
Only Anjin, a Chinese company, has managed to trace its footsteps back into the Chiadzwa Diamond Fields following the Diamond Policy of December 2018 which allowed only four companies (Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC), Murowa Diamonds, Alrosa and Anjin) to mine, process, valuate, market, beneficiate and value add Zimbabwean diamonds.
