LOCAL NEWS – HARARE (Mining Index) – MINER’s body, Zimbabwe Miners Federations (ZMF) says it plans to enhance its service portfolio to incorporate various specialised mining services which emerging miners are failing to access due to a myriad of reasons.

Most artisanal and small scale miners have not been able to afford professional mining services such as assaying and geological survey reports.

ZMF forecasts to offer high-quality test results for better mineral recoveries including gold.

Some of the services most sought after by local miners include percentage activity on carbon, gold in carbon, titratons, cynade and gold fire assay with either AAS /gravimetric finish.

“As ZMF, we have a working relationship with a local company that provides the above services and we can hook you up with them,” said ZMF president Henrietta Rushwaya.

“Funds permitting, we would need ZMF to establish some of these critical services as a long term measure in alleviating some of the challenges we face as small scale miners, more so those who are in their infancy of mining,”

She said employing modern samples preparation equipment as well as advanced analytical instruments will modernise Zimbabwe’s emerging mining sector.

“Taking samples for assay, geological survey reports among others would be a leap forward if we are to take and develop our mining sector to the next stage,” said Rushwaya. ENDS// www.miningindex.co.zw
