WOMEN – HARARE (Mining Index) – ZIMBAWEAN miner, Blessing Hungwe has been appointed to coordinate the Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners (ASM) Delve Project for the Anglophone Africa.
The Delve Exchange is a new platform that seeks to facilitate peer-support between geographically dispersed ASM associations and communities and enhance the resilience between ASM associations and artisanal miners in the face of Covid-19.
The Anglophone Africa is funded by the World Bank and managed by the University of Queensland in Australia.
Artisanal and small-scale mining national networks and associations have played a critical role during the Covid-19 crisis through coordinating short-term relief and assistance in mining communities and advocating strongly on behalf of the sector.
This global forum will be an opportunity to hear directly from ASM associations as well as and to launch the forum. ENDS// www.miningindex.co.zw
