HARARE (Mining Index) – TWO executives have tendered their resignations from the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) National and Regional Executive Boards.
Lindi Mpofu was the federations’ vice president since 2018 while Masango Mahlahla served as ZMF Mashonaland Central Provincial Chairman throughout his three-year membership tenure. Both submitted their resignations addressed to the ZMF Secretary General.
Lindi Mpofu revealed her commitment to other business ventures as the reason for her exiting the miner’s body.
‘Due to business expansion commitments within the region I am not able to fully execute my ZMF Vice
Presidential duties, as I will be required to continue spending periods of time outside the Country,
although I will continue to actively mine in Zimbabwe,’
‘In light of this I am therefore tendering my letter of resignation with immediate effect to enable the
organisation to fill my current role of Vice President,’
‘I wish the ZMF Board and ZMF Members much success in their mining endeavours. My door remains
open to consult with the organisation and its members,’ said Mpofu in her resignation letter.
Prior to her vice presidency, Mpofu served as ZMF Secretary General.
Mahlahla cited personal commitments hindering his effective contribution to the federation.
‘It is with regret that I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign my position on the boards of
Zimbabwe Miners Federation as Mashonaland Central Chairman and Regional Representative,
effective immediately,’
‘My other commitments have become too great for me to be able to fulfil the requirements of my
position on the board, and I feel it is best for me to make room for someone with the time and energy
to devote to the job,’
‘It has been a pleasure being a part of Zimbabwe Miners Federation Board. I am proud of all that we
accomplished in the past three years and I have no doubt the board will continue these successes in
the future,’ said Masango. ENDS// www.miningindex.co.zw
